Meet Pauric

Frantic_Jack_003

Recently we sat down with the members of Frantic Jack to get to know their thoughts on the band and whats ahead. This week we chat to Pauric....enjoy

Age: 22

Instrument: Bass

Tell us about Frantic Jack: It started with Daragh, James  and myself, eventually we got Mark in for lead guitar followed but Mick on drums, and together we have been trying, with some success in making an impact on the Irish music scene.
How long have you been with the band: Since the beginning

What was your favourite gig so far: My favourite gig I suppose was when we supported the Saw Doctors, it was a great gig, the place was jammed full of people and we got to play along side one of the best long running Irish bands.

What are your ambitions for the “Independence” album release: I hope the album does well, we have put a lot of work into it, and I really hope people like it.

Where are you looking forward to playing (town/city) during the Irish Tour: I would have to say the album launch in Edenderry, the people of the town are great supporters of us, it gives us a chance to do something special for them and all the people who have helped us along the way.

Tell us about the Recording of the new album “Independence”: It  was fun, the days we long but I think we have come out with something worth all the work. And im much better at Fifa than i was before.

Describe the first year of the band, the high’s and lows:  it was hard at the start trying to get the equipment in order and just trying to put everything together, but once we got going it was all highs for me bar the travelling, it  gets tiring but its all worth it for putting on a good show.

What’s your favourite track from what you’ve released or what is coming on the album: it’s a hard choice but suppose if I had to pick one it would “funny when you fall”

Describe your style as a bassist: A mixture of everything, I like to play different styles I suppose most often it would be a kind of funk/rock.

Tell us about some of your influences: One of the first bands I really got into was red hot chili peppers and it all started from there. I picked up bass and soon starting listing to great players such as Victor Wooten, Stuart Hamm, Les Claypool to name a few

The number one rule for an original band trying to breakthrough: I’ll tell you when we’re there!

What are your long term ambitions for the band:  I hope that the band continues to keep going well, we have been driven hard well over the past year and I hope that we push even further in the future.
